An Explanation [hello hello]

Here you will find writing and photos - those snippets of life I want to share but, not being in the facebook realm, don't have a chance to. After a good amount of peer pressure (and yes, I do cave) from certain blogging friends, I decided this might be a good alternative means of sharing.

I often feel that there are certain "themes" woven into my months/seasons. This past year's theme is shaped by a lot of leaving and returning home. Inspired by ee cummings' work:
love was and shall be this only truth
(a dream of  a deed, born not to die)
but worlds are made of hello and goodbye:
glad sorry or both (big little and all)

If this is the case, then many worlds were made with all of the hellos and goodbyes I have said this past year. This blog is for those in my different worlds, something to give them when we are separated (by a six-hour flight and close to a dozen states). The difficulty of trying to email photos in large quantities may or may not also have had something to do with it.

Recently I've seen: God is so good. He has drawn us so precisely and teaches so gently. Lately, He has slowly - and here I say this only because I am a slow learner - turned my heart in the direction of gratitude. In another poem, cummings writes, "believe me, dear, clocks have enough to do without confusing timelessness and time." And so do we. Rather than being wrapped up in the "timing" and intricacies of both present and future, of leaving one place and coming home to another, I am learning to take things lightly, and trying to heap on a good dose of thankfulness to boot. The beautiful things truly are timeless.
